Nonya Fiakpui, VMD, MS,
Diplomate, ACVIM (Cardiology)
Dr. Fiakpui is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in the specialty of cardiology. She was awarded her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania-School of Veterinary Medicine, and went on to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Ohio State University. She earned a Master of Science degree concurrently while completing a residency in small animal comparative cardiovascular medicine at Purdue University.

After completing her residency, Dr. Fiakpui worked in private referral hospitals in central Sweden and New England. In transitioning from traditional in-hospital work into the telemedicine space, Dr. Fiakpui discovered that she could expand the reach of her skills through teleconsulting, and through this medium has helped veterinary practices and patients around the world. She has given lectures both domestically and internationally, and assisted in the training of veterinary students, interns, and cardiology residents. She continues to pursue her interest in teaching every day through her interactions with referring veterinarians, and in her consultation reports. She is passionate about making clinical cardiology accessible to general practitioners, and founded Synchrony Veterinary Cardiology to further this mission.
